I'm Soham — a proud Indian who moved to Sweden for work and came back with two things: mild hypothermia and a serious coffee problem.
My Italian housemates in Sweden took one look at my instant coffee habit and declared it a crime against humanity. They kidnapped me into their morning espresso rituals, complete with dramatic hand gestures and strong opinions about everything. Within weeks I was ruined for bad coffee forever.
When I returned to India, I couldn't find anything that came close to those Swedish-Italian kitchen moments. So I did what any slightly obsessed person would do — I dove headfirst into the entire coffee value chain. I toured the misty coffee valleys of Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, met farmers, visited estates, chased processors, and drank more coffee than was probably medically advisable. I toured countless roasteries and cafes and what not.
Eventually, I fell in love with roasting and its compound essences, and decided the only way forward was to roast coffee myself. And so, Stockholm Roasters was born.
